Manchester United Complete £25.2 Million Signing of Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu

Manchester United have completed the £25.2 million signing of Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu, with the 20-year-old set to be at Old Trafford for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Dorgu flew into the UK on Saturday to undergo his medical and has agreed to a five-and-a-half-year contract. He will become new manager Ruben Amorim’s first signing and will watch the match from the stands as United look to continue their strong campaign.

Amorim sees Dorgu as a versatile addition to the squad, capable of playing as a left wing-back, left winger, or even on the right side of the field.

In addition to Dorgu, United have also added Arsenal’s Ayden Heaven to their defensive ranks.

The Red Devils had planned to loan out left-back Tyrell Malacia to Benfica following Dorgu’s arrival, but the Portuguese side was unable to meet United’s loan fee and buy-option valuation.

United are also aiming to strengthen their attack, with reports indicating they are looking to finalize a loan move for Marcus Rashford to Aston Villa.
