Managers meeting will re-position Bon Hotels- Stehlik

The Chief Executive Officer of Bon Hotels, Mr. Guy Stehlik, said the Group’s Annual General/Regional Managers Meeting is one that will continue to position the organization in the vanguard of efforts that will guarantee Nigerians and indeed, African have the rights skills that will drive hotel/hospitality and tourism expansion on the continent.

According to him, the hotel/hospitality industry is a vibrant and dynamic one; hence the Bon Hotel Groups places thoughtful importance on constantly providing its managers with the expertise with the ultimate aim of ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction.

Speaking in Abuja during the opening session of the General/Regional Managers meeting of the group, Stehlik, who was represented by the Executive Director, Operations of Bon Hotels International in West Africa, Mr. Paul Umoh said it was imperative for the general/regional managers and top executives to be conversant with the culture and values that drives their organization.

Umoh said with meetings like this, that the managers can acquire great competitive advantages against Europeans and Americans in terms of managing world class hotel groups.

He explained that the group will continue to initiate trainings and capacity building for its top management and employees, in order to consolidate on developing the hospitality and tourism sectors in Nigeria and on the continent.

According to him, “Nigeria can move and occupy the first position as the choice destination for tourism on the continent when the skills required for driving the sector is provided for stakeholders, particularly managers in the industry”.

He noted that the Bon Hotel Group is known all over the continent for its commitments to guests and their welfare, adding the commitment of the Bon Hotels groups to guests satisfaction is reflected in the group’s performance which has seen it move to the top position in hotel management in Africa.

“I have concrete reason to believe that by early to mid-next year, we would have 20 hotels operating in Nigeria. So that will give us a beautiful network which will make us easily the number one operating hotel company in Nigeria”.

Umoh explained Bon Hotel offers expertise of an international standard in its approach to hotel management, property openings, new builds or the upgrade of existing properties, with the specific needs of hotel owners in mind, adding these are salient factors the managers must be constantly conscious of.

He also commended the government for providing the enabling environment that has allowed tourism and hospitality business to thrive in the country.

Reiterating the seriousness placed by the group on planning ahead, the executive director urged the general/regional managers on early submission of their various budget,


saying the key to effective and sustainable success lies in the having the capacity to plan early, while admonishing the general/regional managers in the group to compliments each other’s and call each other to order when there are issue.

It would be recalled that there are currently about 19 properties in Nigeria within the Bon Group, with many others set to come on board in the coming months.

On her part, the Group Sales Manager, Mrs. Trish Lawrence, while urging the participants to ensure their guests needs always comes first and always, maintained that guest’s satisfaction is directly linked to their sales performances.

She urged the managers to be conscious of their roles and responsibilities, as the hotels continue to hosts dignitaries that include professionals, politicians, company executives, and government representatives,

adding their efforts will lead to the group ongoing significant expansion throughout the continent, while consolidating its position as the leading hotel brand in Africa.

The next general managers meeting of the group is to be held in Enugu in March 2018.
