Man wanted by police, faces threats from terrorists, goes into hiding

The police in Kano have declared one Dauda Zakari wanted over his alleged link with some dare devil terrorists otherwise known as Boko Haram operating in the area.

Dauda Zakari, 27 and former staff of Mbanefo Hotel, located in Sabon Gari Kano, Kano State is wanted to face criminal prosecution alongside suspected Boko Haram terrorists responsible for the Sabon Gari market bombing that caused the death of several innocent people.

According to a charge sheet obtained from the Sabon Gari Margisterial Division, Kano, Dauda is charged alongside others including the proprietor of Mbanefo Hotel located on No. 43/44, Abeokuta Road, Sabon Gari Sunday Emmanuel Mbanefo for harbouring dangerous criminals in their hotel on December 20, 2017, knowing same to be an offense against the anti terrorism act 2013, as amended.

But Dauda Zakari who is now on the run fleeing from the state and Boko Haram threats according to sources close to the hotel, was the manager of the hotel when the suspected Boko Haram terrorists lodged in the facility without him knowing their true identity.

The source hinted that it was after the market attack that Dauda Zakari got to know who their guests really were following a distress call from one of them to help them evacuate their room and keep the bomb making material safe for them.

Frightened and confused at the shocking piece of information, Dauda Zakari reportedly alerted his boss who promptly directed him to lock the hotel and wait for him

Before this could happen, the police stormed the hotel following the confessional statement by one of the suspected terrorists Aminu Tijani that they had lodged at the hotel for two weeks planning the bomb attack.

But Dauda is also now being threatened thereby escaping the Boko Haram group accusing him of being the one that revealed their identities to the police who have now launched a manhunt for them.

There was however a dramatic twist when some unidentified gunmen attacked the Sabon Gari home of Dauda Zakari shooting his parents and his pregnant wife.

The shooting of the family members sources said followed threats by the outlawed terrorist groups to eliminate Dauda Zakari who they accused of betraying them.

The police has however taken judicial prosecution of the recent Sabon Gari shooting and has decided to go after the perpetrators.
