Man to Marry 15 Year old Girl he impregnated in Kano

A 40 years old man Hamisu Rabo a residence of Tudun Bojuwa Fage Local Area who hails from Niger Republic has been compel to marry a 15 years old girl Maryam Iliya Audu whom he impregnated.

According to the Commandant Hisbah board Fagge local government Salisu Umar, that the command received a complain from one Alh. Aliyu Audu who accused his neighbor Hamisu Rabo of defiling his 15 years old daughter Maryam and as a result she was found with pregnancy.

” Hamisu was accused of impregnating a minor whom he initially wasn’t ready to marry but after we received the complaint, we arrested him and after investigation, he admitted to committing the crime and promise to marry her” I advise that parents take good care of their children in order to avoid such occurrences.

He further revealed that the teenager has given birth to a bouncing baby girl and according to Islamic rights marriage preparations between the two is already in place.

Bar. Amina Umar Hussain a lawyer from International Federation of women lawyers, Kano State Branch who has also joined in the case to ensure justice is done to the under age girl stated that the accused has written an undertaking with the Hisbah to marry her and as such every legal steps would be suspended in order to ensure the underage girl doesn’t end up as a single mother.

” since he has agreed to marry her we will ensure he fulfils his promise. Because if we sue him to Court that means imprisonment and that means she alone will have to raise the daughter alone and that also means a boarding on the parents. So marrying her would be the best option”

The board has promised to ensure that Hamisu marries and take good care of her.
