Man defrauds policeman, 15 others in Sokoto — Hisbah
A 33-year-old man, Labaran Aliyu of Gidan Bahuri area in Wamakko Local Government of Sokoto State, has been arrested by the Sokoto State Hisbah Police for allegedly duping 15 persons, including a policeman, Daily Times gathered.
The suspect was alleged to have collected the sum of ₦2.4 million from his victims under the pretext of producing hard currency for them, the Commander of the Sokoto State Hisbah Commission, Dr. Adamu Bello Kasarawa said.
The victims, who were from different parts of the country, were traceable through their respective phone numbers found on the suspect’s phone.
The Hisbah Commander noted that the policeman (name withheld) currently serves in Kaduna State.

“He used Juju rituals, animal sacrifices, spiritual facemask, and different forms of perfumes to carry out his deceptive and unlawful activities,” Kasarawa said.
Items recovered from the suspect include fake US dollars and Nigerian currency in different denominations among others. The commander also alleged that the suspect sexually abused three minors at different times and used his mobile phone to record the illicit acts.
“He recorded their sexual acts with his mobile phone which was also recovered,” the commander alleged.
Kasarawa said the suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution if found guilty.
