A middle-aged man, Mr Eze Calistus Ejike has been declared wanted by men of the Anambra State Police Command over his alleged membership of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
Ejike, from Eziala Orsumoghu in Ihiala Local Government Area was declared wanted after he escaped arrest.
The Police command said he was earlier arrested but that he jumped bail.
According to the police, “He is one of the notorious leaders of the illegal group, IPOB. under the guise of demanding release of Nnamdi Kanu, they are constituting nuisance to the Nigerian society.
“Already, the group has been outlawed, so anyone that is a member is offending the law.

“He was earlier arrested over activities of IPOB but was granted bail on the condition that he should report every month, but he later jumped bail.”
He further stated that Ejike was later sighted on May 30, 2016 during a clash between security agencies and IPOB members in Nkpor Anambra State.
“On that very day, Eze Calistus Ejike, Isaac Obiajulu, Christopher Nkemakonam, Paul Obika and Okechukwu Mbaeri were among those who spearheaded the clash between the IPOB members and security agencies.
“They escaped from lawful arrest and we have been on their trail since then.
“There was also a joint operation to re-arrest Ejike from his village where he was hiding but he escaped again,” the cop stated, adding that a manhunt for him was in the process.
Meanwhile, Ejike’s wife Eze Ada Victoria is constantly harassed by the security agents described the operation carried out by security agencies in their family house as unprovoked.
While lamenting that her husband’s father was shot dead during the raid, urged human rights organisations to help them get justice.
She narrated that: “They came to our house in the dead of the night and started shooting sporadically, shouting that they were security agencies.
“My father in-law was unluckily shot while he was trying to climb down the stairs.
“They came looking for my brother in-law, Isaac, who was being treated for the dislocation he suffered during his earlier arrest.
“My brother in-law escaped from the house miraculously that night and we have not seen him since then.”
