Man, 42, accused of impregnating Pry 5 pupil

A 42 year old man, James Aleke has been accused of raping and Impregnating a primary five pupil of Central School Obobo, Ishieke in Ebonyi local government area of Ebonyi state.
Aleke, a married man without a child reportedly laid ambush on Chinasa Agbo, 14, on her to Nkwor Market in the area and raped her at a bush path. Chinasa took in after the incident.
When her mother noticed her pregnancy and asked her who was responsible for it, Chinasa who is now in her seven month of pregnancy, disclosed that she was ambushed and raped by Aleke.
Her mum immediately took her to Aleke to take care of while the father, Agbo Augustine reported the matter to their village head who allegedly summoned the suspect and ordered him to take care of the girl.
Aleke who admitted being responsible for Chinasa’s pregnancy and promised to take care of her and formally marries her as his second wife, however reneged on his promised.
The girl was diagonized of anemia by Mile 4 hospital, Abakaliki by gynecologists where the mother registered her for ante-natal following Aleke’s action.
In annoyance, the girl’s father and mum reported the matter to a special court in Abakaliki which specializes in handling such matter and Aleke was summoned by the court.
Speaking in the special court at the weekend, Chinasa disclosed that Aleke was yet to have a baby from his first wife and wondered why he was wicked to her despite the fact that in a matter of about two months time, she would bear him a child.
She recounted how she was raped and impregnated thus “There was a day I was asked to by my mother to go and buy food ingredients for her in our market in the night. When I was going, James Aleke passed me. He later turned back and dragged me inside the bush and raped me. I was shouting but that place was lonely and nobody heard my voice. He raped me till I started crying and he did very long.”
The father of the girl, Agbo Augustine said he reported the matter to the village head and that Aleke refused to abide by the verdict of the village head that he should look after the girl.
Agbo who is a carpenter disclosed that he further took the matter up because Aleke accused him of broadcasting the matter, bragging that if Chinasa dies, he(Aleke) will spend some little money and the matter will die permanently.
But Aleke who admitted being responsible for Chinasa’s pregnancy, debunked the allegation of abandoning Chinasa.
He noted that he has intension of taking the girl, after delivery formally as his second wife.
In her verdict, the Chairman of the Family Law Centre Mrs. Elizabeth Nwali directed Aleke to bring N25,000 cash to the centre for prompt medical care of the girl.
She ruled that Aleke should subsequently deposit N10,000 monthly for Chinasa and her baby’s upkeep.
