Makarfi assures Nigerians of restructuring

… Says country run like military regime
The former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmed Makarfi has assured the citizens that as the president of Nigeria, he will encourage restructuring.
Makarfi, who was in Umuahia at the PDP headquarters yesterday to solicit for support over his presidential ambition come 2019 said “the condition of Nigeria now calls for restructuring”.
“The policy of PDP is that we believe in restructuring. Nigerians must know that it is the policy of PDP to restructure Nigeria and this must be done by Nigerians, not its leaders.
“If you play politics so that any region does not believe in you, it will not work”, the former Kaduna State governor said, pointing out that the country requires a leader that must be respected by all Nigerians.
“When we talk about restructuring of Nigeria, we must talk about institutional restructuring”, he said stating that by institutional restructuring, the security agencies in the country including the army, police, NSCDC, Immigration, Prisons, Air Force, SSS and others will be overhauled “or we will not move anywhere”.
Makarfi who is also a former senator said he has seen difficulties in the country, stating that the country is run as a military regime where authority and power comes from the top downwards.
He said that as a president of the country, he would revive coal industries in south east and will transfer excess power generated from the generation source, while his government will be forced to create jobs for teaming Nigerian youths, stating, “PDP can do it”.
Makarfi described himself as best suited for the position putting into consideration and is one who believes in positivity to ensure PDP survives.
If given the support he said, “it will be success, not failure” and time for all to go to sleep as power will be in the hands of a trusted man, warning that leadership is not associated with money, but past successes.
Responding, the State party chairman of PDFP, Sir Johnson Onuigbo described Makarfi as a general that was “trusted during the war” (PDP internal war), stating also that as a Northern Muslim, Makarki holds all religious views.
“For once, I saw a Nigerian leader”, who believes in what is good for the goose is also good for the gander, as well as being dogged.
“All he needs is knowledge and does not have to be Mike Tyson to rule”.
