Low Voters Turn out in Benue

The governorship and State House of Assembly election  conducted in Benue State yesterday witnessed a low turn out as people were afraid of risking their lives due to the threat posed by desperate supporters to unleash mayhem if their candidates are defeated.

Daily Times Correspondent who monitored the election in two local governments of Guma and Makurdi Congress noted that the election was general peaceful in the two areas.

As usual there were few cases where the Card Reader failed to capture the finger prints of some voters which delayed accreditation.

Meanwhile, from the result pouring in from across the twenty three local government areas so far, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress Chief Samuel Ortom  is standing ahead of his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor.

Our investigation revealed that in Zones A and B senatorial district, the APC was in an clear lead leaving Zone C as a battle ground.

Daily Times gathered that some hired thugs attempted to  snatch ballot boxes in Ukum and Katsina Ala local governments they were however apprehended.
