Low Turnout in Ibadan as Ladoja, Akala,Makinde ,Ajimobi Certifies Election Process.
Gubernatorial and House of Assembly election in Ibadan the capital of Oyo state witness a low turnout in Ibadan on saturday
In most of the polling centre there was about 40 percent drop in the number of people who participated in the election.
The Public Relation officer of the peoples democratic Party PDP Mr. Kehinde Salawu said the low turnout was as a result of the discrepancies which occurred during the last election.
” People are not happy because they discovered a lot of manipulation in the last election, they are afraid their may be replica of such today and true to their words and belief we have discovered some but we didn’t allow them to carry out their unholy act”.
Also the five key gubernatorial candidate Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala of labour party, Sen Rashidi Ladoja of Accord Party, Sen Abiola Ajimobi of APC and Eng Seyi Makinde of SDP expresses satisfaction with the conduct of the election,
They all commended the security arrangement, and the election process in their domain, ” I am satisfied with this process and it tells you that we are progressing as a country and our people are also adapting to the new system” says Seyi Makinde
Otunba Alao Akala who voted Ogbomoso said,” the process is satisfactory in my area and I am happy that people came out to perform their civic responsibility peacefully and I wish it goes on like this. ”
The duo of Sen Ladoja of Accord Party and Sen Abiola Ajimobi of APC also commended INEC for the process.
There were report of manipulations in some locations around the state but they are yet to confirm some of the rumours of arrest and violence around the state.
