Low Attendance Stalls Plenary in House of Reps
The resumed plenary in the House of Representatives could not hold on Tuesday, due to lack of quorum, as only 16 out of 360 members showed up.
The Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, announced that the house would, therefore, resume plenary on April 1.
“I can say that this is the first time we are recording the lowest attendance of lawmakers in this chamber and I can understand that it is in view of what is going on in the country.
“Since yesterday, results were being released and, of course, we are waiting for the big one, which is the announcement of the presidential result,’’ Tambuwal said.
Leader of the House, Rep. Mulikat Akande-Adeola (Oyo-PDP), moved a motion for adjournment and it was, unanimously, adopted by the House.
