Liverpool set to resume plans on new training facility

Liverpool have reportedly been given the go-ahead to start on their new £50million training ground – but it still unknown if the club will able to use it next season.

Liverpool wanted to move the senior team to Kirby where the academy is situated in July 2020 but the plans were brought to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This means that the club will continue using Melwood until 2021 until they can resume plans for their state-of-the-art centre.

According to reports, McLaughlin & Harvey – the contractors who are overseeing the Kirkby development – are in the process of increasing the number of staff on the site and have implemented safe systems of work after taking advice from the government.
