A Star-Studded Beginning in Lagos

The journey began on December 8, 2017, at the iconic Freedom Park, Lagos, with a debut concert that headlined the soulful Ric Hassani and featured performances by Bez, Johnny Drille, Aramide, Tjan, Isaac Geralds, Jeff Akoh, YBNL Princess, Clay, and Byno. Hosted by Moses Akerele (Kahlil of MTV Shuga), it was a night to remember.

The momentum continued with the second edition on March 9, 2018, again at Freedom Park. This edition was headlined by Jeff Akoh and featured a packed lineup including Iyanya, Terry Apala, Maka, Ric Hassani, Lekan Babalola, Okiemute, Chike, Tian, and Isaac Geralds. In July 2019, Live & Wavy introduced its “Jam Session” series, beginning with Kunle Ayo & Friends at Oriental Hotel, followed by Dunnie & Friends later that same month at the same venue.

Live & Wavy expanded to Nigeria’s capital on December 1, 2018, with a vibrant show at Indigo Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, featuring Byno, Isaac Geralds, and a comedy twist with Josh2Funny marking the brand’s intent to reach music lovers across the country.

The Rise of the Legends Concert Series

In 2023, Live & Wavy welcomed rapper Erigga to Freedom Park, thrilling fans with a dynamic fusion of rap and live-band energy. This set the stage for a new tradition: the Legends Concert Series, a tribute to the iconic voices that have shaped African music across generations.

The first Legends Concert took place on December 1, 2023, at Freedom Park, Lagos, headlined by Faze & Friends. The unforgettable lineup included African music heavyweights 2Baba, M.I Abaga, Ruggedman, Tony Tetuila, Blackface and Duncan Mighty delivering a night of nostalgia and raw talent.

The second edition, held on December 1, 2024, at Xovar Lounge in Lagos, spotlighted Sunny Neji & Friends. Legends like 2Baba, Daddy Showkey, Blackky, Ruggedman, and Jodie took the stage, weaving a tapestry of timeless hits and powerful performances that resonated with fans young and old.

On May 31, 2025, the Legends train rolled into Abuja for a show at The Playzone Arena, again headlined by Sunny Neji & Friends. Featuring Blackky, Jeremiah Gyang, Jodie, and 6footplus, the concert reinforced the series’ mission to revive classic African sounds for new audiences while celebrating Nigeria’s musical heritage.

More Jam Sessions Keep the Vibe Alive

The Jam Session series continued to thrive in 2024, with Salle & Friends lighting up Sailors Lounge in July with a smooth blend of soul and jazz-infused live sounds. Later that year, Dai Verse & Friends took the stage at Paradis Lagos, delivering a high-energy showcase that bridged contemporary sounds with the rich instrumentation of live bands.

A Global Leap: UK Tour 2025

Now, Live & Wavy is poised to take its vibrant spirit beyond African borders, partnering with PG ARCOT for a groundbreaking UK tour in RY 2025. The tour will feature threesignature events: The Legends Concert, headlined by Sunny Neji & Friends in August 2025, bringing the soulful sounds of African music royalty to international audiences and The Jam Session, featuring rising star Dai Verse in July 2025,showcasing the fresh, dynamic energy of Africa’s new generation of talentand Odoguw party headlined by illbliss.
