Leventis Foundation awards #500,000 Grant each to 2 Agric-preneurs

In a bid to empower and assist thriving young Agricultural entrepreneurs, the Leventis Foundation Nigeria(LFN) has awarded the sum of 500, 000 grant each to two young Agric-preneurs.

Daily Times Nigeria reports that the two beneficiaries of the award are, CEO Ambagreen ENT Global, Moshood Abiola Alogba, and CEO Oma’s Fish Heaven, Isioma Ohaji.

Speaking at the event which took place in Abuja on Wednesday, the chairman, board of directors, Leventis Foundation Nigeria, Ahmed Mantey, in a congratulatory message, urged the awardees to make good use of the grant and also assist in the fight against hunger and poverty. by engaging others in the aspect of agriculture.

Mantey stated, “Make good use of the grant and also ensure you help others.

“We pray that by the time we see you next year, we will be talking about what you have achieved using the grant that has been given to you by Leventis Foundation,” he noted.

The chairman further urged Nigerian youths to delve into Agriculture as the occupation is lucrative and needed more engagement.

“Agriculture is wide open and still not able to meet up with demands in terms of Agricultural products in this country. Agriculture is it,” he stated.

Also speaking, the Executive director, LFN , Dr. Hope Usieta in his remarks revealed that the grant award ceremony was part of the agricultural youth summit that was organized by the foundation in collaboration with AU- ECOSOCC to celebrate the youths on the international youth day.

He said, “The idea for us was to push the boundary of Agriculture while synthesizing ideas for solutions in Agric business in the country. It was a robust engagement.

“As part of this, we thought we should go a step further by identifying Agric businesses owned by youths which are thriving that we can support.

“We had more than 600 applicants, but we identified two that we can support,” he noted.

He further stated, “as a foundation, we will continue to do our best to keep supporting Nigeria achieve the sustainability we need and desire.”

He congratulated the winners and urged them to use the Grant to strengthen their businesses.

“To our grant winners, I congratulate you once again, as we have supported you with this grant of 500,000 naira, we hope that you go back and put it into good use and also use it to strengthen your businesses,

Meanwhile, in a separate interview, the excited winners promised to use the grant to create more facilities in their respective businesses which will in turn provide the opportunity to create more employment opportunities for others.
