Let’s restructure by putting an end to bad leaders — Jerry Gana

Restructuring to many people connotes different ideology but the most pertinent of them all is that, we must restructure to put an end to bad leaders, says Professor Jerry Gana.

The former Information Minister, also said that the North Central have been grossly shortchanged by northern leaders who only use the north-central to score political goals, saying that the zone should wake up from it slumber and restructure it ideas by producing a North Central candidate for the presidential election come 2019.

“restructuring to produce a good leader that will treat Nigerians as equal is very key: our problem is caused by bad leadership, we need a leader that will set the country on the right course because Nigeria is on the cross road of failure of leadership.
“If they say presidency is zoned to the North; why can’t the north-central produce the President: it is high time we call ‘a spade, a spade’ and do what is right”.

Mr. Gana who spoke at the weekend in Jos, the Plateau State capital, during a seminar on ‘National Restructuring’, organised by the Church Of Christ in Nations (COCIN), also advocated for the creation of States for the minorities in the North.
He said the minorities in northern Nigeria are being oppress by the majority, adding that if allowed to have their own state, they will govern themselves better.

Jerry Gana sighted Southern Kaduna, Southern Borno, and Southern Adamawa as minorities in the North who suffer all sorts of humiliation from the hand of the majority in the above mentioned states.
He said the minorities who are mostly Christians cannot be allowed to produce leadership in these states, saying that they are being killed without their oppressors being brought to book.

The former Minster who is also a Party Chieftain in the People Democratic Party (PDP), also said for the country to survive from the many agitations recently rocking the present administration, it should restructure to favour true federalism.

On his part, the Director General, Plateau Peace Building Agency, Mr. Joseph Lengmang, who was also at the occasion said Nigeria should also view restructuring from the moral perspective.
Lengmang said the crop of leaders we produce are products from the society, adding that if the society is morally bankrupt, then it reflects on the leaders it produce.
