Lazarus Muoka set to join the league as he planned own university

Faith-based universities are the fad among the Nigerian mega churches. With the trail already blazed by the likes of Bishop David Oyedepo’s Covenant University and The Redeemed Christian Church of God’s The Redeemers’ University, it has become pleasant news to thousands of members of the The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries Worldwide led by Pastor Lazarus Muoka when the news broke about the coming of the church’s university.

To Muoka, he is not investing in the University project to join the fad but to add value to education and ensure that many who could not get quality university education because of the inadequate numbers of those institutions in the country; he wants to bridge the gap.

Daily Times gathered thatPastor Lazarus Muoka’s ministry will have its multi-billion naira ‘Chosen Crown University’ located very close to its Crusade Ground in Mgbidi, Imo State. Muoka, during a courtesy visit to Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, was said to have announced his church decision to establish a world-class university in the state. The pastor while asking for the governor’s support in establishing the new institution said the church will start the university and complete it without delay.

We also t gathered that impressed by the Church’s proposal to build a new university in the state, the governor was said to have donated N10m and hectares of land for the church to commence the university project. With this development, the Lord’s Chosen will be joining other mega churches owning Universities including Oyedepo’s Covenant University, Ota and Landmark University, Omu Aran; The RCCG headed by Pastor E.A Adeboye with The Redeemers’ University; Baptist Church with BOWEN University; Seventh Day Adventist owners of Babcock University and Dr. Daniel Olukoya’s Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM) with Mountain Top University.
