Lawmaker visits bandit victims, urges communities to unite against insurgency in Zamfara 

The Lawmaker Representing  Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency in the House of Representative, Honourable Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi, has visited victims of bandit attack in the Mafara Garangi and Masamar Mudi Ward of Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara state.

He urged them to come together in agreement and resist the oppression and wickedness of insurgency in their domain.

He made this known while visiting the victims today in Bukkuyum Local Government Area.

In the course of the week, bandits invaded Mafara Garangi and Masamar Mudi wards, stole properties, burnt houses and kidnapped unidentified numbers of people. They recked untold havoc on the communities, leaving many homeless without any means of livelihood.

Goods harvested and stored at home including goods bought for commercial purposes were burnt down during the invasion. Bandits also rustled several livestock, leaving the community members confused on the next steps to start again.

It was on this light that the saviour of Gummi and Bukkuyum in the green House, Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi visited the affected communities, donated food stuff, cash and property for the affected families to start again.

The monetary aid and food supplies were distributed to the families of those affected to alleviate their hardships.

Honourable Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi, expressed profound shock upon learning of the incident, urging members of the community to unite against insurgency and ensure timely information to security agencies for adequate assistance.

He advised the communities to regard the incident as an act of God and offered prayers for Allah to prevent future occurrences of such disasters, as well as for the restoration of peace in the area.

He called on the community leaders to remain vigilant, carrying out their constitutional duties with the fear of God, knowing that it is God that puts the life and property of the members of the community in their hands, and the same God will judge them on the last day.
