In a bid to improve the response time to all forms of emergencies in the state, the Lagos state government is set to commission the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Response Unit on Ikorodu Road by Fadeyi Bus Stop, Onipanu, to serve Lagosians in that axis and its environs.

He further stated that the Unit which has just been completed and equipped will be commissioned on Wednesday 20 December, 2017, by the governor.

He added that it will serve as dispatch centre where personnel and equipment will be deployed from time to time, to respond to distress calls, thereby adding value to the lives of Lagosians in that axis.

The General Manager noted that the Dispatch Centre on Ikorodu Road will complement the existing dispatch point at the Command and Control Centre in Alausa, Ikeja;

LASEMA Response Unit at Cappa, Oshodi and the recently commissioned LASEMA Response Unit located at Lekki, by Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge.

He stated that efforts were ongoing to create more Centres in other parts of the state, thereby reducing the response time to incidents.

Finally, he expressed the need for the general public to partner with the state government in mitigating and preventing hazards by ensuring that distress calls on identified hazards are relayed to relevant responders or stakeholders through the emergency toll free line – 112/767, so as to make the state a safe haven for Lagosians and investors.
