Lasaco, Unity Kapital, Prestige, two others file 2016 results

As more insurance companies work towards evading regulatory sanctions for breach of listing requirements one of which stipulates filling of audited results within the first quarter, five additional insurance companies have filed their results.

The companies are Lasaco Assurance, Unity Kapital Assurance, Great Nigerian Insurance, Prestige Assurance and Law Union and Rock Insurance 2015 result; Their results were published by the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) compliance portal during the trading week ended March 07th 2017.

Lasaco Assurance plc financial statements for the period ended December 31, 2016 showed that revenue rose to N6,041,590 from N5,102,097 recorded in 2015, while the company’s Profit After Tax in 2016 financial year rose to N944,461, from N283,320 million posted in the corresponding 2015, reflecting about 350 per cent growth.

Unity Kapital Assurance Plc financial Statements for the same period of 2016 Period Ended December 31, 2016, indicated a lesser revenue of N2.2 billion, from N2,68 billion in 2015,while Profit After Tax also declined to N192,150 million, from N321,981 million posted in 2015 financial year.

Prestige Assurance Plc financial statements for the period ended December 31, 2016, revealed higher revenue of N2, 61 billion, against N2,430 billion recorded in 2015, while Profit After Tax also recorded boost to N221,992 million, from N137,003 in 2015.

Great Nigerian insurance plc: financial statements for the period ended December 31, 2015 revealed that revenue recorded by the company in 2015 rose to N3.12 billion, from N2.79 billion posted in 2014. The company’s Profit after Tax in 2015 increased to N526.536 million, from N95, 500 million recorded in 2014.

Meanwhile ,Law Union and Rock insurance financial statements for the period ended December 31, 2016 reflected boost in revenue to N3.94 billion, against N3.86 billion in the corresponding 2015. Profit after tax 2016 closed the year at N561, 851 million, over N280,919 million in 2015.
