LAMATA Extends Rail Services for ‘The Experience’ 2025
The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced extended operating hours for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line to accommodate the large number of attendees expected at The Experience 2025, the annual all-night gospel concert scheduled for this weekend at Tafawa Balewa Square.
The announcement, issued by LAMATA spokesperson Kolawole Ojelabi, stated that the Blue Line will run extended hours on Friday, December 5, operating until 11:43 pm, beyond the normal 9:30 pm closing time.
On Saturday, December 6, services will begin at 4:00 am and run until 9:30 pm to support post-event movement and weekend traffic.
Meanwhile, the LRMT Red Line will run on Friday within its usual time slots — 6:00 am to 10:00 am for morning peak and 5:20 pm to 8:40 pm for evening peak, but will not operate on Saturday. Regular schedules for both Blue and Red Lines will resume on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
The Experience, convened annually by Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock, is one of the world’s largest gospel concerts, drawing hundreds of thousands physically and millions via livestream. The event features both local and international worship artists.
LAMATA encouraged commuters to plan, use Cowry Cards for access, and cooperate with officials to ensure smooth movement during the event.
