Lagos lawyer kills lawyer husband

….ripped open his stomach, cuts off genital
The Lagos State Police Command has launched investigations into the brutal murder of a Lagos based lawyer, Mr. Otike Odibi by his wife, Mrs Udeme Odibi at their Diamond Estate residence in Sango-Tedo.

It was gathered that the duo who had been married for three years without a child have had series of misunderstanding days before Udeme had ripped open Otike’s intestine with a knife and also cut off his genital.

Udeme who is also a practicing Lawyer had attempted Suicide after allegedly killing her husband, but was rushed to the hospital for treatment by neighbours.

Neighbours however reported the incident at the Ogombo Police Division on Thursday morning.

According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti who gave more details on the murder, the Divisional Police Officer had received the distress call at about 7:30am.

Oti said, “Based on the information, the DPO mobilised a team of detectives to the scene where they found the man lying on the bed in the pool of his own blood, with his stomach ripped open exposing the intestine.

” As if that was not enough, the killer severed his genital and placed it on his right hand.

“Sequel to the above, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi, directed Crime Scene Detectives from the homicide section of the SCID Panti Yaba and Forensic experts to the scene to aid in the investigation.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had divorced his first who had bore him a daughter currently schooling in the UK.

A neighbour and close friend of the deceased who chose to remain anonymous revealed that the deceased had called him on phone the night of his murder, complaining that the wife was threatening to kill him with a knife.

Since there is a saying that when a husband and his wife are having issues, it is best you preach peace without taking sides, I just warned him to be careful, ” he said.

It was also learnt that the deceased had also called his mother and his younger sister complaining of threat to his life that fateful night.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal frowned at the frequency of spousal killings saying not too long ago, a husband had allegedly killed his wife and baby in Banana Island Lagos.

He therefore advised couples to learn to resolve their matrimonial disputes without resorting to violence.
