The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Information Communication Technology, (ICT), Mrs Nike Animashaun, has revealed plans by the state government to provide Wi-Fi services to residents of the state.
Speaking at the state ministerial briefing in Alausa recently, Mrs Animashaun said the first phase of the Wi-Fi connectivity would be installed in parks within the state, adding that the first parks to benefit from the WiFi installment are Oshodi, Alausa and Ajegunle parks.
“The Wi-Fi services will be in some of the parks in the state and when it is deployed, residents of Lagos State would be able to access Wi-Fi in some of the parks,” she said
When probed about what goes to the park, Animashaun said that the state government came up with the idea to stimulate and encourage the interest of children in science and technology. She however did not state if the Wi-Fi connection will be free of charge.
