Lagos Govt commends Fidson’s investment in children’s education

Nigeria’s foremost indigenous pharmaceutical company , Fidson Healthcare Plc, has received a pat on the back from the Lagos State Government for its massive investment and commitment to the educational development of Nigerian children in the last nine years through its Astymin brand’s annual flagship programme, Astymin Brilliance Reward.
Speaking at the ninth edition of the programme in Lagos recently, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Oluranti Adebule, said Astymin’s commitment and contribution to the development of education and academic performance of the Nigerian child was commendable as the brand continues to invest in the future of the nation through the provision of educational materials to the leaders of tomorrow–children.
Citing education as bedrock of national development, Adebule, who was represented at the event by Director, Administration and Human Resource, in the State’s Ministry of Education, Mrs. Folashade Lediju, said Fidson’s consistency in supporting children’s educational development in the past nine years was laudable.
“It is good to know that this beautiful programme has been on for the past nine years. We want to encourage Fidson to continue to soar higher and higher. May the Lord continue to empower and enable them.
We must also commend their focus on Primary education, which is indeed the foundation for educational development. We all know that once the foundation is solid, definitely, success is assured”, she said.
Lediju noted that Astymin as a food supplement is important for every growing child. “Once the children are healthy, they will be able to channel their energy into developing themselves, their education will not be a problem because only a healthy and sound mind will be able to access education and develop with it’’ she added.
Also speaking at the event, the Director of Co-Curricular department of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr Hakeem Olalekan expressed gratitude to Astymin for the reward programme. “On behalf of the Chairman of the board, Dr. Ganiyu Shopeyin, we are very grateful to Astymin for this brilliance reward.
This is an encouragement to both the pupils, teachers as well as their parents who put in so much effort to ensure their kids worked hard and performed excellently in their academics”, he said.
The Astymin Brilliance Reward, which berthed in 2010, is the brand’s biggest and most prestigious event. The programme is aimed at developing mental and academic performance, while rewarding hard work and academic excellence amongst primary school pupils, through special acknowledgment and provision of educational materials.
The 2018 edition witnessed the convergence of the very best graduating pupils from about 210 private and public schools across the south-west and South-eastern regions, as well as parents, teachers and stakeholders in the Nigerian educational system.
The Astymin brand recognised and rewarded the kids numbering over 200 with certificates of excellence and valuable prizes, which were presented them at the event.
Earlier in a welcome address, Fidson’s Marketing Manager, Mr Friday Enaholo, said the programme is an evidence of the company’s unrelenting commitment to supporting Nigerian children in all their academic endeavours through its Astymin brand, in line with the corporate brand promise of adding value to the lives of Nigerians as expressed in its slogan: We value life.
