Lagos govt assures citizens of safety of lives, properties
The Lagos state government has assured innocent members of the public of the safety of lives and properties around Mafoluku, Shogunle, Sadiku, Ladipo and the entire Oshodi area of the State.
SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force who gave the assurance disclosed that the activities of ‘NURTW’ & ‘RTEAN’ across the entire Oshodi area is presently under the checks and control of Lagos State Task Force and other security agencies who were strategically positioned for the maintenance of peace and orderliness.
The Chairman revealed that different warring factional leaders of NURTW and RTEAN alongside their supporters trying to ferment trouble around the mentioned areas have been arrested and are presently with the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Mr. Fatai Owoseni for interrogations.
He said: “Members of the public are therefore enjoined to ignore the misinformation about ‘Bomb Explosion’ and ‘Security Alert’ around Shogunle and Oshodi trending on various social media, thereby creating unnecessary fear amongst traders and residents of the area.”
He also warned, “miscreants and hoodlums must desists from causing choas around Oshodi and the entire parts of the State as anyone arrested would be immediately charged to court for prosecution.”
The chairman who commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for providing security agencies across the state with modernised equipment, however called on members of the public to immediately report any unlawful activities of notorious miscreants and hoodlums to appropriate security agencies through ‘112’ and ‘767’ which are toll-free.
