Scores of youths and women in Omu-Aran, stormed major streets in the community on Thursday to protest over alleged outrageous electricity bills and extortion by Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).

The youths who carried placards took to the street as early 8.am chanting war songs.

They were armed with placards with inscriptions like, “Omu-Aran say no to estimated billings, Avert electrocution, replace damaged cables, polls, High billing is not acceptable any more, stop unnecessary extortion,”.
