Why Korea promotes creativity in Nigeria – envoy

The South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador In-tae Lee has said that Nigeria, with an estimated 198 million people is blessed with abundant talents in creative and entertainment industry, which required commitment from all stakeholders to unravel the boom and potentials of the sector.
This, Mr Lee said was the reason his country is supporting the creative industry in Nigeria, saying that surely, the sector can generate tremendous employment opportunity and create wealth for Nigeria’s teaming populace.
The diplomat stated this at the weekend during the K-Pop Dance Competition 2018 held in Abuja where the winners would represent Nigeria in the global contest coming in Korea by October.
“I have seen firsthand, the resilience and ingenuity of Nigerians everywhere I have been, particularly young Nigerians on whose hands lie the future of this country.
From all corners of Nigeria, young people who have fallen in love with the energy and creativity, passion and commitment that K-Pop demands, have participated in this competition for seven years now.
Once, a team from Nigeria conquered the K-Pop world and became the first team from the African continent to win the KBS World K-Pop Competition,” the Korean envoy stated.
He said that he was happy that the K-Pop Completion in Nigeria was providing such platform to promote creativity and entertainment; enabling Nigerian youths to showcase their talents, improve their skills and prepare for further challenges and successes.
He said that the embassy invited two K-Pop instructors from Korea who are moving around different dance studios in Abuja, sharing their knowledge of music and dance as well as learning from Nigerian dancers and instructors.
