Kogi NSCDC arrests 130 vandals, thieves in 2015
The Kogi State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has said that, in 2015, it arrested 130 suspected vandals and thieves.
In a 2016 press briefing in Lokoja, on Tuesday, aimed at reviewing the 2015 operations of the Command, the Commandant Mr. Ochogwu Michael, said the command under his leadership had intensified adequate protection of critical national assets and infrastructure located in the state, adding that out of the 130 suspects apprehended for vandalism and theft, 19 were charged to court , saying that 4 cases were concluded and 15 are still pending in court.
Michael noted that exhibits recovered from the suspects were illegal products, vehicles, pumping machine, communication cables and drum, stressing that the frequency of transformer vandalism that characterised the first quarter of 2015, in the state, had been reduced remarkably, saying that the consistent surveillance and patrol of the power installation mounted across the state by the Command resulted in the achievement.
