Killings: Military taskforce patrols trouble zones in Plateau

Officers of the Special Task Force (STF) are now patrolling troubled zones on Plateau State, following the attack of gunmen who ambushed and killed 15 persons within the State capital in Jos North Local Government Area.
The incident however led to a reprisal attack by the locals leading to counter attack and spreading through the city center all through till Sunday afternoon.
Reacting to the unfortunate mayhem, the STF Commander, Major General Augustine Chris Agundu, moved swiftly and mobilised more personnel to the affected troubled zones.
Agundu who was on ground at the various flash point troubled zones, warned that those perpetrating the ungodly act must be fished out and made to face the full wrath of the law.
Earlier on Sunday evening, Gen. Agundu went live on a local radio station, warning citizens who resides in the troubled area to stay in doors to avoid falling victim of the assailants, assuring residents that the task-force is mobilising to quell the unrest.
Our correspondent reports that most flash points on Monday were dominated by troops of the task-force, also known as Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) while normalcy has been restored as at the time of filing this report.
Although the State government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew in the affected communities, the decision according to government was to avert further breakdown of law and order.
