Troops were mobilised to the scene to investigate the incident but the attackers took advantage of the difficult terrain which provided them the cover to escape, however in what seems like a reprisal attack, unknown gunmen shot and killed two locals same day at about 11:30pm.

“In another development, OPSH received a distress call that suspected armed robbers invaded a shopping area shooting sporadically at about 8:45pm at Pandet community of Du Districts in Jos South LGA.

Troops were mobilised immediately to the scene of the incident to contain the situation. The victims of the shootout were immediately evacuated to Plateau Specialist Hospital and Jos University Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

“It was later confirmed by doctors from both hospital that 11 persons had died while 12 others are still receiving treatment from wounds sustained during the attack”, the statement read.
