Kidnaped Unijos Lecturer, Husband regains freedom

Professor Grace Ayanbimpe, a lecturer at the University of Jos, and her husband, Isaac, were kidnapped and held captive for 24 hours before being released by their kidnappers.
Edward Egbuka, the Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, confirmed this.
According to the police chief, the release was the result of a coordinated operation by the command’s tactical unit, hunters, and vigilante supporters.
On Monday, gunmen accused of kidnapping broke into their home in Lamingo, Jos North Local Government Area of the state, behind Haske Quarters.
In another development, security personnel have been deployed to Kisayi village near the Nigerian Army’s Three Division’s Maxwell Khobe cantonment to prevent any breakdown of law and order or retaliation following an assault on herders by as yet unidentified attackers and cattle rustlers.
According to the Commissioner of Police, the joint team of police and operatives from Operation Safe Haven discovered 15 cows killed by the attackers.
According to the CP, two cows and a sheep were recovered from the scene of the incident, while 36 cows and 12 sheep are reported to be missing as a result of the herders’ attack.
The recovered animals were returned to the complainants, and the hunt for the missing animals is still ongoing.
