Kevin Hart suffers major back injuries in a Car Crash
Popular American Comedian, Kevin Hart was involved in a car crash on Sunday in Los Angeles around 12.45am.
Kelvin Hart, who is presently receiving treatment at the Northridge Hospital Medical Centre was been driven in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda by his driver on Mulholland Highway at the time of the accident.
Reports have it that Hart’s driver, Jared Black, 28, lost control of the car, while making a left turn onto the Mulholland Highway from Cold Canyon Road, smashing through a fence and sending the vehicle rolling down an northern embankment.
According to reports, after the accident took place, Black and Rebecca Broxterman, Black’s fiancee and the third passenger in the car, were trapped under the collapsed roof of the car, while Hart was able to get free and went to his nearby house to get help.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Hart and Black who both received a major back injury were taken to separate hospitals, while Broxterman was not as seriously injured and sought treatment on her own.
Police, however, say Black had not been drinking at the time of the accident.
Recall that Hart bought the car, a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, as a 40th birthday present to himself earlier this summer.
Hart is also known for his stand-up comedy and comic roles in movies such as Think Like a Man, Act like a Lady and The Secret Life of Pets.
He pulled out of hosting this year’s Oscars ceremony following a controversy over old homophobic tweets.
The 40 year old said he did not want to be a distraction and was “sorry he had hurt people”.
The ceremony went ahead without a host.
