Keep upholding national unity, group charges Kwankwaso as he marks 61st birthday
Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has been charged to keep upholding national unity in his effulgent political career. The admonition came from the Senator’s admirers who converged at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos on the night of October 21 to celebrate his 61st birthday.
Welcoming the guests who were drawn mainly from Lagos and the South West, Mrs. Fisher Thomas, said, “it is my pleasure to welcome all of you here tonight. We would have made this event a big party.
“We eventually settled for a cocktail. The reason is that the celebrant is not really a party going person. He hardly goes out at night. He is just a simple family man.
A lover of education and children. In fact we had to bring him out at a night time like this because we told him we just want to show him our love and admiration.
“All I will say is that as a strong believer in national unity, he should keep upholding the peace and unity of this country.
He should keep his love for education going. What he did for education of children in Kano State is a great source of hope for this country. And we admire him for this.”
Barrister Ladipo Johnson told the audience that the event is a purely social gathering put together by friends of Kwankwaso in the South West. He declined to speak about his relationship with the celebrant.
He simply said, “If you followed what he did in Kano State for the education of children you will admire him. That is all. This is not about politics, or any political ambition,” Johnson said.
Various professional groups were in attendance including National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) were well represented.
Other dignitaries at the event include Honourable Yusuf Danbata, Alhaji Idi Farouk, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Engineer Abubakar, Honourable Bode Mustapha, Mrs Tokunbo Edun, Mr Wale Ajao, Engineer Owolabi, Solana, Alhaji Tajudeen Oyeleye, Barrister Demola Animasahun and Dr. Ajibola Raheem among others.
