Katsina procures power tiller machines to boost farming

The Katsina state government has procured 80 power tiller machines to boost agricultural activities across the state. The Special Adviser to the state governor on Agriculture, Dr. Abba Abdullahi, stated this on Monday during a demonstration exercise before the governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari at the Government House, Katsina.
According to Dr. Abdullahi, the power tiller machines has multi-dual capacity to be used for ploughing, planting, threshing, harvesting and grinding amongst others.
To this end, he said selected youths and women from across the state have been trained on how to manipulate and maintain them for effective usage.
On his part, the Managing Director of KTARDA, Ibrahim Shehu Musawa said to ensure acceptance pilot demonstration have been held at the three senatorial zones of the state.
Musawa added that the state government intends to train ten selected youths and women from each ward to boost agricultural productivity in the state.
He said so far demonstration have been held in Katsina, Daura and Funtua, adding that, the distribution of the power thriller machines would be carried out by the Tractor Operators and Owners Association for proper coordination.
