Kano Population Important in Determining Electoral Outcome- Sanusi
The Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness Alh. Muhammad Sanusi II has stated that the people of Kano play a significant role in the country’s electoral process.
According to the Emir, the state is blessed with large number of people who undoubtedly determine the outcome of every election in the country. This he said is the main reason why Kano is considered very important by politicians.
The emir made this statement during a courtesy visit to the Kano State Government House during which he congratulated both the governor and his deputy over their victory in the just concluded election.
The Emir called on elected leaders to have the fear of Allah in their heats as they discharge their duties.
According to him all elected persons must be reminded that the people of the country needed a change in the system of government that is what led to the voting out of the incumbent president and many other political office holders he said what they people need now is positive changes not repetition of what the present government has done doing so will leave the people no choice than to vote out also the new government.
According to the Emir, democratic governance would only be possible when elected leaders and those who found themselves in position of authority, ensured fairness among the citizens irrespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
He urged Kwankwaso to be upright as a leader and regard his victory as an act of God who gives power to whoever he wished.
In his part, Kwankwaso thanked the Emir and the entire emirate council and called on the emir and the emirate council to redouble their effort at educating the Kano public on the importance of enrolling their children in to modern schools as no human society can develop without education.
