Kano has highest number of PGD holders in Nigeria says Kwankwaso

The former governor of Kano State, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said that he ensured the state had the highest number of Post Graduate Degree (PGD) holders in the country during his tenure.

Speaking while receiving an award as the Political Achiever of the Year 2017 from the management of See Magazine in Kaduna, the former governor said the landmark achievement of his administration in educating citizens of the state is already yielding results within a short period of time.

He said that besides establishing two universities including the North West University and the Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil, his administration sponsored several indigenes to study both as undergraduate and post graduate students abroad and in top private universities in the country.

Speaking further, Kwankwaso said his administration also constructed 300 hostels in several federal universities, a development that favoured their students.

“I only told the universities where the hostels were built to ensure our students gained admission and two years after, all Kano citizens seeking admission into universities were admitted,” he said.
