Kaigama dumps SDP for PDP says APC fails opposition role in Taraba

A former Social Democratic Party, SDP, chieftain, Kenneth Kaigama, has dumped his party for the ruling People’s Democratic Party in Taraba State.

He faulted opposition political parties in state particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC) as failing in opposition role.

Kaigama who is making a return to the PDP said the APC has failed to provide meaningful opposition in Taraba as well as failing to engage the government constructively.

He said that the importance of consistent and objective opposition to foster good governance.

He said “Since their loss in the last election, they have become irrelevant and plagued by leadership crises,” Kaigama said.

He urged the opposition parties to as a matter of urgency go back to the drawing board

“My return to the PDP is not just about politics; it is about aligning with a party that prioritizes development. I want to assist the governor in bringing progress to the state rather than staying with opposition politicians who only fight for power during elections.

“This is just the beginning. My return to the PDP will help restore faith in the party and bring me closer to the people,” he said.
