Kaduna’s $200m Poultry Project to Generate $450m Yearly, Create 350,000 Jobs — Uba Sani

Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna state, says the proposed $200 million model integrated poultry development project will generate more than $450 million annually and create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Sani spoke on Thursday during a meeting with Idi Maiha, minister of livestock development, held to align federal and state efforts ahead of the project’s groundbreaking.

The governor said the initiative followed agreements concluded with the Chinese government during his visit to Beijing in December 2025.

He thanked President Bola Tinubu for selecting Kaduna to pilot the project, describing the choice as a vote of confidence in the state’s agricultural potential.

Reflecting on his China trip, Sani said he toured CP Foods Layers and Eggs Ltd, where he observed the full value chain — from production and processing to packaging and distribution.

According to him, the facility, which produces nearly three million eggs daily, demonstrated “the elevation of agriculture into an exacting craft” and marked a major step toward finalising the Kaduna poultry project.

Sani added that the $200 million project, to be executed in partnership with Chinese investors, is expected to boost food security, generate mass employment, and position Kaduna as a leading agribusiness hub in Nigeria.
