The Chief Judge (CJ) of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John Tsoho has marked his one year in office as the Chief Judge of the Federal High court of Nigeria.
This is just as he reaffirmed the commitment of the judiciary to remain focus in discharging its duties in fairness and truth.
The CJ who has maintained an open-door policy since his assumption in office expressed his views on how anti-graft war in the Judiciary could be a success saying, “the Judiciary cannot be singled out when talking about corruption because corruption exists in every facet, and virtually every society.
“However, we will not relent in our effort at ensuring that justice, fairness and truth are upheld in our justice system”.
While calling for the support of all Nigerians, and why corruption should not be encouraged, the CJ added that to fight corruption, one must be ready to lead by example.
”First and foremost, you try to lead by example. If for instance, it shows that you are transparent, other people will be encouraged to be transparent too,” he explained.
He further called for the cooperation of his colleagues as he steers the ship of the court.
”This is so because I can’t stand alone and achieve very good results.
”If that is done, I believe we will go along way in according the Court a pride of place,” Tsoho concluded.

It could be recalled that the Senate had, on Oct. 27, 2019, read a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari, asking the lawmakers to confirmed the appointment of Tsoho, who was then the Acting CJ.
His Lordship was, on July 26, 2019, sworn in as Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Hon. Justice Tanko Muhammad, in Abuja.
His appointment was sequel to the retirement of Hon. Justice Adamu Abdu-Kafarati, who attained the retirement age of 65 years on July 25.
Tsoho’s elevation as Acting CJ of the Federal High Court was in line with the rules which provide for the most senior Judge to occupy the office of the CJ, when the post is vacant pending the appointment of a substantive Chief Judge.
Justice Tsoho, who hails from Benue, was born on June 24, 1959 and was sworn-in as a Judge of the Federal High Court on Nov. 12, 1998.
