PSG announces signing of super falcon’s captain

French giant, Paris St Germain, has announced the signing of super falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade from Liga F heavyweights, Atlético de Madrid.

The Nigerian midfielder who is known for her colourful hairstyle and dazzling footwork on the pitch has signed a contract till 30th June 2027 with the French team.

The 24 years old Nigerian striker began her career as a 13-year-old with Nigerian top-flight side FC Robo Queens where she progressed through the ranks to earn the title of NFF Young Player of the Year in 2018.

She has since then played for Norwegian outfit Avaldsnes IL for 2 years before she moved to Spain to join Atlético de Madrid in 2021.

In the 2024–2025 campaign, she made 25 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.

As a key player in the Nigerian female team, Ajibade, twice led the Super Falcons to continental glory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, in 2018 and in 2024.

Speaking at her unveiling as a new PSG player, Ajibade relishes the opportunity to play in one of the biggest teams in Europe while serving as a source of inspiration for young female footballers.

“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe. This is a major step for me.

“And I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere,” she says.

With over 30 caps under her belt already, Ajibade has cemented her place in the Nigerian senior team and hopes to do the same in the PSG team.
