Just In: Court orders release of Sanusi from confinement , detention

The Federal HIgh Court sitting in Abuja Friday morning ordered the release of the deposed Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi from confinement and detention in Awe Nasarawa State.

Justice Anwuli Chikere gave the order following an ex parte motion brought and argued by Lateef Fagbemi (SAN)the lead counsel to the deposed Emir Sanusi.

However, the judge banned Sanusi from entering Kano pending the determination of the motion on notice.
She adjourned the matter to March 26 for hearing.

She further ordered that the respondents should be served with the processes within five days .

The respondents to the application are, the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu; the Director-General of the Department of State Service, Yusuf Bichi; the Attorney-General of Kano State, Ibrahim Muktar, and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN).
