JTF arrests suspected kidnap kingpin’s mother in Delta

The joint Military Task Force operating within Bomadi Division in Delta State has arrested Mrs. Warefiniere Agbe the mother of alleged kidnap kingpin popularly known as Kareowei, the leader of the dreaded militant camp in the mangrove of Ndoro community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
She was said to have been arrested at a home in Ogieriagbene community in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State at the weekend.
Kareowei and his gang has been linked with series of recent kidnappings along the Bolotoru River which is the boundary between Bayelsa and Delta States with heinous activities that allegedly included the attack on the military check point at Ogbobagbene, few months ago where a soldier was allegedly killed including military wares such as a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and two riffles carted away as well as recent kidnap of Madam Ekpongbolo Preyor, mother of the lawmaker representing Bomadi Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly.
The arrest of Mrs. Agbe, according to sources, was not unconnected with the kidnap incident of Madam Preyor who was critically ill at the time of her adoption and who is believed to be in Karekorowe’s custody, her alleged abductor, but an official of the JTF who did not want his name in the print confirmed that Mrs. Agbe has been taken to Police Headquarters in Asaba for further investigation, adding that Karekorowe was alleged to be furious on the news of the mother’s arrest and has threatened to vent his anger on those he believed to have disclosed clues leading to identification and ultimate arrest of his mother. Reacting to the incident, the Bishop of Bomadi Vicariate of the Catholic Church, Most Rev. Hyacinth Egbebo blamed the series of kidnap issues and other criminality in the area on the failure on the part of the security operatives and call on them to wake up to perform their assigned duties adding “we are in trouble, the various security apparatus should wake up and assume their duties and they should show responsibilities in their assigned duties” but a Police Officer at the State Police Headquarters who did not want his name in the print confirmed that Mrs. Agbe is under interrogation by the Police
