Chief Dele Momodu, Chairman of Ovation Media Group and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain needs no introduction in the Nigerian media industry. He’s one of the famous godfathers of celebrity journalism in Africa.
He has carved an enviable niche for himself as a successful media mogul.
For decades, the journalist-turned politician mingled in high-profile circles and he’s friends with the affluent and decision-makers across the world. In the few years, Chief Momodu has evolved into a key figure in the Nigerian political landscape running one time for the biggest political office in the land.
The cheering is that Chief Dele Momodu turned another year older a few days ago. He clocked 64 in fine style.
And to celebrate the milestone, the socialite opted for a leadership lecture to mark his birthday – the inaugural Momodu Leadership Lecture under the chairmanship of former Ghana President, Dr. John Dramani Mahama while Professor Bartholomew Nnaji, a former Nigerian Minister of Power was the guest speaker.
And the topic of discussion for the inaugural leadership lecture was titled “The Politics Of Energy And The Way Forward For Energy”.

As expected, it was a well-attended event despite the heavy downpour that almost disrupted the well planned event. Prominent politicians including former Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, Femi Tejuoso, Tundun Abiola, daughter of late MKO Abiola and other high-profile guests defied the unfavorable weather conditions in honour of Chief Momodu’s special day.
It was an engaging session with Dr. Mahama and Professor Nnaji who added colour to the lecture with their brilliant lectures. And that’s not all, Chief Dele Momodu known for his high taste wrapped his special day in style with a party at the Penthouse featuring high-flying guests including Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke of Osun State.
