President Goodluck Jonathan’s bid to get himself accredited by the Card Readers used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at his ward in Otuoke, Bayelsa state, has once again proved abortive, as his card was rejected by the fourth voter card readers.
After several fruitless attempts with three different card readers, the president waited patiently for further directives from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
President Jonathan then had to undergo verification by a fourth card reader, which proved unsuccessful again like previous attempts.
At the time of this report, President Jonathan has left the polling booth, saying he was sure the problem would be sorted out.
Meanwhile, Muhammadu Buhari, his main challenger, has been accredited at his polling unit in Katsina state.
INEC says its officials will use an incident form to accredit authentic voters rejected by the card readers.
