Jonathan, Hero of Our Democracy – Lagos PDP

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has eulogised President Goodluck Jonathan as the actual hero of democracy and father of modern Nigeria.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Taofik Gani, the party charged the in-coming president and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prepare grounds to honour Jonathan as the face of Nigeria’s genuine democracy and modern Nigeria.
According to the party, Jonathan had shown uncommon humility and patriotism in the acceptance of the presidential result as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), despite the inadequacies substantial enough to precipitate violence during and after the voting.
The PDP, therefore, admonished all candidates in the elections to eschew violence and desperation. “Indeed, aggrieved candidates can yet explore the legal procedure, as prescribed in the electoral act and the election tribunal laws, when inaugurated.”
