Jonathan fires NIPC boss
About 11 days to the end of his administration, President Goodluck Jonathan has fired yet another head of parastatal.
He ordered, on Monday, the immediate sack of Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Mrs. Saratu Altine Umar.
While no reason was given for her sack, the President through a statement signed by his spokesman, Dr Reuben Abati approved the Mrs Uju Hassan- Baba as Umar’s replacement.
The new Executive Secretary/Chief Executive had served previously as Director-General, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice in Anambra State and Director, Legal Services, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
Umar was appointed NIPC boss in May 2014 to replace Engr Mustapha Bello who held the position for several years.
