Ben Ayade’s ex-opponent emerges APC senatorial candidate for C/ River North

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Joe Odey Agi, has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 31 October Cross River North senatorial district by-election, Daily Times gathered.
Chairman of the APC electoral committee for the senatorial district, Alhaji Sulaiman Dankowa on Friday declared Agi winner of the primary election conducted on Thursday.
Briefing journalists Friday at APC national secretariat, Dankowa said Agi scored a sweeping 113,229 votes of the132,554 valid votes cast to emerge winner.

Other contestants, Prof. Sam Akpagu scored 8,635, Ochicha Anthony scored 5,825, Harry Godwin scored 2,708 and Fidelis Agu scored 2,154 votes.
Joe Agi, an Abuja based legal practitioner was involved in the 2015 governorship contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as an aspirant but lost to the incumbent Governor Ben Ayade.
