Flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming Edo state gubernatorial election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has canceled his planned campaign at Usen in the wake of a road crash which claimed the lives of two police officers today.
Daily Times had earlier reported that earlier today, a trailer rammed into the travelling campaign entourage of top chieftains of the APC, claiming lives.

In a statement by the Chairman of the APC Media Campaign Council, Mr. John Mayaki, said it was suspending the scheduled event, to honour the dead.
On behalf of his principal, Pastor Ize-Iyamu and the APC, Mayaki commiserated with the families of the dead, saying they were not alone in their grief.
He also said that the campaign would do everything within its powers to assuage the pain occasioned by the loss of their loved ones.
Condoling with families of the policemen involved in the tragic event, the campaign said Edo would never forget their ultimate sacrifice.
The campaign urged everyone to pray for the soul of the dead, and against the recurrence of such tragedies.
