Ize-Iyamu commends Buhari for bringing APC crisis to an end

Frontline Edo APC Gubernatorial aspirant, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has said that Edo State people are full of gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for bringing to an amicable end,  the recent crisis relating to the National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu was addressing Edo APC leaders and members who came to welcome him after he returned to Benin City from Abuja where he had gone on a solidarity trip with theĀ  APC National chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

He said, “We are very grateful as indigenes of Edo State because we would have been ashamed and disappointed if our son, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was removed from office.”

According to Pastor Ize-Iyamu, the President deserves commendation because he foiled a “coup” which was the product of a grand conspiracy, coordinated and funded from Edo State for the removal of an Edo son, Comrade Oshiomhole.

He said those involved not only dropped the President’s name, even the governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki “was so reckless  that he said the President instructed him to deal with the National chairman and when people met the President to find out, the President made it clear that he had no hand in what they were doing.”

“That will tell you how much they hate Edo State. You can imagine a situation where they were working (and) spending Edo’s money to pay people to remove your own man from our state as National Chairman.”

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu also said that the people of Edo State were also full of gratitude to the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, all APC governors and the leadership and members of the National Assembly, for their solidarity with Comrade Oshiomhole.

He said members of the APC National working Committee and National Executive Committee as well as State chairmen of the party including the state chairman of the APC, Col. Dr. David Imuse also deserved commendation for supporting the National chairman at a time of need.

“Edo people are not ingrates. We appreciate those who stood with us in times of need. We don’t want the attitude of a few to give a wrong signal…because gratitude is in our DNA.”

Meanwhile Pastor Ize-Iyamu has said that just as it is wrong and undemocratic for anybody to be talking of automatic ticket as far the Edo 2020 elections is concerned, it is also wrong to say that second term is non-negotiable.

“In a state where majority of the people have no jobs, a state where there are no industries, and there are no health facilities; how can anybody brag and say they have earned a second term ticket. So my advice is all of us should prepare for party primaries.”

He concluded that all members of the party must remain open to new members while at ward meetings members make it a point of duty to tell others that they must get ready for the party primaries to change the way Edo is being governed.
