Ita-Giwa congratulates Buhari, urges leaders to emulate Jonathan

Prominent female politician and former Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, has congratulated President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory but urges political leaders to emulate President Goodluck Jonathan’s statemanship and magnanimity.

In a statement she signed and made available to Newsmen on Thursday, the political leader of Bakassi task Buhari to live up to the people’s expectation by maintaining peace and ensuring sustenance of democratic values.

Ita-Giwa also praised President Jonathan for transforming the nation with an all inclusive administration that stands him tall in the Comity of nation, noting that he is Nigeria’s first hero and that she is very proud working with him.

The statement reads in parts:”I commend President Jonathan for his statemanship and I want to say that political situation now is the will of God. He is Nigeria’s first hero and I remain very proud of working with him.

“Leaders should emulate him, his humility and large heartedness. He will forever be remembered as a man of Peace who believes in the unity of this nation.

“I also congratulate General Buhari and advise him to live up to the people’s expectation in ensuring peace and stability in the country.”
