INEC Would Conduct Free, Credible Polls- Jega
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, has pledged that the electoral umpire would conduct free, fair and credible elections.
Jega, who revealed this on Wednesday also said that the electoral body would meet the aspiration of Nigerians, who he said were clamouring for credible elections.
Jega spoke at a meeting convened at the INEC headquarters in Abuja with the 37 Resident Electoral Commissioners.
The meeting was aimed to review preparations for the forthcoming election.
He added that the commission would examine the gaps and other things needed to be done in the next few weeks.
Jega said, “The commission is doing its best to ensure free fair and credible polls. We are going to conduct free, fair and credible elections.”
